 Dr. Tempestt Williams, LCSW NJ , VA

I am a published scholar and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and Virginia. I have multiple years of experience providing substance use and mental health therapy to adults throughout the treatment continuum. I am passionate about discussions surrounding race and culture and the impact it has on treatment outcomes and access to care. As a Black therapist, I  provide resources and guidance to therapists and individuals in need through mentorship and counseling to further cultural literacy and support change. My background experiences include:

  •  Professional development for substance use professionals

  • Active patient advocacy, individualized treatment and case planning, and cultural awareness practices

  • Active collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies to support treatment efforts for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders

  • Exploration and development of research-based interventions for race-based groups and individual counseling
